Joining?
1. How do I Join?
Joining Haven's Grove isn't as hard is it may seem! You do need to be approved by the Site Owner (Alphess Dahlia) or another Admin member in order to begin posting on the site but it's really quite simple!
1: Read through the rules of the site:
By clicking this -link- , you'll go straight to the rules of the site. Read carefully! Dahlia has taken great care into putting little tricks in the rules to prove that you have read them.
2: Post a "Joining Profile"
A "Joining Profile" is the basic background information, description and story of your wolf character. Clicking this -link- will take you to a page that gives you the set up for this profile.
3: Ask for acceptance -IN- character
Just because a member is accepted on our site does not mean your character has been accepted into the pack. All members are required to play their wolves out though being accepted by the alphas or another high ranking member of the pack, no exceptions.

2. I read the rules so why haven't I been accepted?
If you're having trouble getting approved, there is always a reason why.
Listed below are some of the most common mistakes made by newer members. Be sure to double check your Joining Profile to make sure you've done all of the following. If you're still having trouble getting approved and you've done everything listed below, be sure to send Alphess Dahlia or another Admin member a PM (private message) to find out why.
1: Not reading the rules properly.
2: Joining Profile is not set up correctly
3: Missing Joining Keys
4: Photo is not appropriate
5: Example post is too short
6: Inappropriate wolf (ex: crippled, blind, has wings ect.)
7: Making a second wolf without permission
8: Being disrespectful to Alphess Dahlia or another Admin member and have yet to apologize.

3. Why was my membership deleted?
Haven's Grove is an up and coming website and we have many new members that join us every single week. So in order to keep the site from getting out of hand with it's member count, each week members are removed or deleted because of the following:
1: There was no wolf bio posted within one week of joining.
2: Admin asked several times for a profile to be updated (information, photo and sometimes name) or changed and it was not done within a week.
3: Extended periods of inactivity without posting in the "Leave of Absence" forum.
4: Disrespecting Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or any of her Admin and either refused to apologize or did not do so at all.
5: Godmodding other members even after being asked to stop.
6: Trying to have two wolves without consent.
7: Continued to break rules even after several warnings.

4. What are "Joining Keys" and how do I find them?
Now, we can't actually tell you WHAT the "Joining Keys" are but we CAN tell you where they are and why we have them.
1: Joining Keys are certain phrases that have been hidden though out the rules in order to assure that our new members ACTUALLY read them.
2: The Joining Keys are important because if our new members don't read the rules, they wont understand why they are being reprimanded if they break a rule and it's unfair to the rest of the members who have read and follow the rules.

5. Can I start off with more then one wolf?
Until the Admin have some idea of how a particular member posts and how active they are, we do not grant out second wolves. This helps us ensure that the more active members are the ones whom are being rewarded for being active, but they have also shown to be capable of handling more then one wolf.
You may ask Admin for a second wolf but don't be disappointed if they says no.

Rules
1. What is "Ghosting"?
Ghosting is when one member plays another member's wolf without their permission.
Ghosting is FORBIDDEN in Haven's Grove!
Ghosting another member's wolf will result in automatic rank demotion or (depending on the severity) deletion!
Now, if a member suddenly vanishes because something comes up where they have to leave the site for an extended period of time, we're not going to leave you stuck until they return. If this member posts in the "Official leave of Absence" forum, notify an Admin member that you are now stuck because of this. One of the Admin will create a post that gives you an excuse to leave the situation if you cannot think of one on your own.
This does NOT mean you can suddenly control the other members wolf! You may slip out from under them if they are sleeping along side you but that is as far as you may go!
The ONLY members who are allowed to "ghost" another member's wolf areADMIN! And these are only extreme situations as well as with the Site Owner's approval!
If another member has left your wolf "stuck" for 3 days or more, you may slip away from the situation but be sure to send that member a PM (private message) that you've left the area/situation because it was unfair of them to leave you trapped for such an extended period of time.

2. What is "Godmodding"?
Godmodding, also know as power playing, is when one member refuses to give another member a change to respond. This is even worse then "Ghosting" and any member found doing this purposely will receive a warning and automatic demotion in rank. If the same member is caught "Godmodding" a second time, they are automatically deleted from Haven's Grove, NO EXCEPTIONS.
The following situations are considered "Godmodding":
1. Not giving a member a chance to respond to an attack.
Ex: Wolf A runs up behind Wolf B and pins them down and bites their ears!
Here's the problem with this, for one that is a terrible post but I wanted to keep it short and secondly, Wolf A may have in fact snuck up on Wolf B but Wolf A pinned Wolf B before B had a chance to even attempt to doge the attack.
2. Controlling another member's actions.
Ex: Wolf A run around and tackles Wolf B to the ground and doges their bites and gets off them. Then Wolf A doges Wolf B's next attack and pins them again.
Here's the thing, In that entire post Wolf B never got a chance to post anything. Wolf A assumed that Wolf B would attack again so they continued to doge the member only to pin them once again without giving Wolf B a chance for a counter attack.
3. Killing another member's wolf WITHOUT permission.
Ex:
Pretty self explanatory. However, there are NO warnings of deletion if we catch this. If Wolf A kills off Wolf B WITHOUT having spoken to Wolf B about it, Wolf A is automatically deleted and removed from the site. Period.
4. Not allowing another member to land an attack on you.
Ex: If wolf A is a fighter and wolf B is a scout, both wolf A and wolf B are on the same level of attacks but in different way.
Wolves are not invincible, everywolf involved in a tussle will sustain some kind of bite or injury. Players may NOT power house another member, Wolf A may be bigger and stronger but Wolf B is faster, quicker and smarter. Both have their own pros and cons and each one will be hurt in someway.

3. Why can't I have magical powers?
Haven's Grove is a semi-realistic wolf role playing site. The only things that make us a semi-realistic site is the fact that we allow human and wolf eye colors, the human like emotions and communication between wolves and instead of having a mating season like wolves do in the wild, any member can have pups or a mate at anytime (with permission) on the site.
We do not allow things such as magical powers, strange appendages (wings, pointed ears, sharp claws ect.), unrealistic fur markings or jewelry on the site because no wolf in existence has any of those things.

4. Why can't my wolf have strange fur or eye colors?
Well, have YOU ever seen a purple wolf in the wild with bright red eyes? Neither have I. Haven's Grove is a semi- realistic wolf role playing site. We do not allow unrealistic fur or eye colors on our site.
Check the lists below to see if your wolf has an appropriate fur or eye color.
Approved fur colors:
◦Black
◦Browns
◦Tans
◦White and Creams
◦Grays
◦Reddish Browns
◦Orangish browns/reds (may need Site Owner approval)
◦Any combination of the colors listed above
Approved eye colors:
◦Browns
◦Yellows and Golds
◦Greens

◦Blue-greens
◦Ambers
◦Silver and Grays (requires approval from the Site Owner)

5. Can I re-join if I've already been deleted once?
Usually, yes.
We know that things come up and sometimes our members either don't get around to posting their joining profile by our set deadline (a week within joining) or forget to tell us that they're leaving for an extended period of time and they end up being removed.
However, there are exceptions to being able to rejoin. Listed below are reasons that some members are not allowed to rejoin.
1. Godmodding repeatedly despite warnings.
2. Power playing (being "invincible").
3. Spamming the site.
4. Being overly rude/disrespectful to the Site Owner or Admin.
5. Blatant disregard for following any of the rules.

6. Where and What is the "Leave of Absence" forum?
Our Leave of Absence forum is where members who will be taking leave from Haven's Grove for an extended period of time post to inform us of this. The Leave of Absence forum is important because this allows Admin to keep better track of our members and this way when Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) cleans out the members list every other week, you won't be deleted by mistake.

Your Wolf
1. How do I move up in rank?
The ranks on our site vary and depend on a number of different things. Ranks also continually change though out the packs in Haven's Grove due to members leaving or wolves in those current positions dying. However, we only give out the higher ranks (Warriors and above) to members who have met the following criteria:
1: A more advanced role playing (literary) level.
2: Proven themselves trustworthy in the eyes of the Admin.
3: Prior experience in literate wolf role plays.
4: Admin feels they will not abuse their new rank (IN and OUT of character).
5: Get along with the majority of the members on the site.
6: Are mature both IN and OUT of character.
7: Are fairly active on the site.
If you meet the requirements listed above and you have your eyes on a higher rank, please send a PM (private message) to the Site Owner or another Admin member. They will review your membership and activity before replying to your request.
Please remember that just because you feel you meet the requirements for a higher rank, doesn't mean you'll get one. The Admin have many other members to consider for each high ranking position and chose the high ranks based on what is best for Haven's Grove.
If you still do not understand why you did not get a higher position then another member or find it unfair, please send Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member a PM (private message).

2.How do I get more wolves?
Well, second bloodlines (a new wolf altogether by the same member) are only given out when a member is very active and is of a higher literacy level. However, most members will slowly acquire more wolves through taking a mate and having pups together.

3. How do I get a mate and pups?
The ranks on our site vary and depend on a number of different things. - Both wolves must have known each other (IN CHARACTER) for a MINIMUM of TWO WEEKS!
- The two wolves seeking to be mated must get approval from their Alpha(s) and the Site Owner/Admin
- For more information about other mating rules, regulations and behaviors click the -link- or visit our "Mating Behavior" section under "Wolf Facts".
Proven themselves trustworthy in the eyes of the Admin.
- Wolves must be approved mates for a MINIMUM of TWO WEEKS before they can request to have pups.
- Wolves must get permission from their Alpha(s) and the Site Owner/Admin to have pups.
- A litter CANNOT be more then 3-4 pups with 1-2 pups per member.
- All pup profiles must be sent to Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) and be approved.
Prior experience in literate wolf role plays.
- Pup(s) name(s)
- Pup AND Adult photo(s)
- Pup(s) personality/description(s)
- Request for future rank(s) and pack

4. Why was my mate request denied?
Usually mate requests are accepted, however, there are a few occasions when mate requests are rejected.
- The member you requested to be your mate changed their mind / doesn't want to be your mate.
- Either yourself or your chosen other are not ready to handle more then one wolf.
- Requested to be mates before the minimum time requirement was met.
Sadly, some wolves both in the wild and on Haven's Grove never take on a mate. Don't worry, we're very fair on Haven's Grove and when you feel you are ready to take on a second wolf, we'll review your membership and take it from there.

5. Why aren't I allowed to have pups?
Having pups is a big responsibly in more ways then one. When a wolf takes on a mate and decides to have pups, these members have now doubled their number of characters. A member must meet the following requirements in order to be allowed pups:
- Be in an approved mated pair
- Be fairly active
- Have decent literary skills
- Admins feel you are ready to handle more then one wolf
- Act mature and accordingly both IN and OUT of character
- Have been a member for at least ONE MONTH
If you meet all the requirements above, there is a very good chance that'll you'll be approved for pups! However, sometimes members aren't always granted a second generation. Don't despair, if you're denied the first time, try again in a few weeks!
Our Admins and Site Owner will inform you of the reasons you've been denied and are always willing to help you improve!

6. Why was my wolf photo inappropriate?
Having an inappropriate wolf photo can be a reason a member is not approved or is even deleted if they refuse to change it. To make the site fair for everywolf, we have certain standards and rules that have to be upheld when it comes to a wolf's photo. Listed below are the most common reasons that wolf photos are rejected.
- The photo is digital / hand drawn
- Unrealistic fur or eye colors
- Unrealistic / strange markings
- Unrealistic physical features (EX: Wings, Horns, Extended claws or fangs, ect.)
- The photo is not of a wolf (Ex: domesticated dog, wolf-dog, fox, coyote, another kind of animal)
Our rules on a wolf photos are VERY strict and FINAL. Every once in a while, we will allow SMALL exceptions to these rules when it comes to variations in eye and fur color but everything listed above isn't open for discussion.
Please do not use a photo that has any of the unacceptable attributes above, it is an insult to Haven's Grove and it gives other members the false impression that they may have such a photo as well.

Personal
1. If I'm having a problem with another member, who should I notify?
We understand that because of the many different literary levels and personalities that we have in Haven's Grove, that not ALL our members are going to get along. However, a member's personal problem with another member should NEVER be reflected in their role playing.
That being said, if you find yourself having a problem with another member to the existent that you feel it IS affecting yours or their role playing, you'll want to notify Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member.
Do NOT post ANYTHING in the forums about having a problem with another member!
Both you and the other member will be suspended from posting for however long the Site Owner and Admin agree is an appropriate punishment!
If you are having problems with another member, send a PM (private message) to Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member! Again, do NOT post anything about have a personal problem with another member in the forums!

2. I feel like someone on the site is bullying me, who should I notify?
Bullying is COMPLETELY unacceptable on this site.
Here in Haven's Grove, we want all our members to be treated fairly and with respect. Bullying now a days has become very serious and we will not stand for this on our site.
Send a PM (private message) to Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member right away if you feel as if someone is bullying you.
Please keep in mind that if a wolf is hard on you IN CHARACTER that may just be the character, not all wolves get along with one another in the wild and we're sure it will be same here. However, if you truly feel that another member is bullying you, the Admin will look over both sides, previous post and PMs's between the two disputing members and if we find that a member IS being bullied, the member responsible WILL receive consequences.
If the bullying continues, the member behind the negativity will be deleted.

3. How do I report someone breaking the rules?
Reporting another member breaking the rules to Admin is not looked down upon in Haven's Grove. We want all our members to be treated fairly and respectfully on our site. If you find another member to be continually breaking one of the rules on Haven's Grove and you do not think Admin is aware, please feel free to send Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member a PM (private message).

4. Why do I have to listen to higher ranks if they're not Admin?
Here's the thing, IN CHARACTER, if a wolf is a higher rank then your wolf, you HAVE to listen to them. Members with higher ranks are in their positions for good reasons. Being they are great role players or that they're older and Admin knows they won't go throwing their authority around, not just anywolf can have a high ranking position.
However, if a higher ranking wolf is trying to boss you around the site OUT OF CHARACTER and is NOT an Admin member, please report them to Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member.
Just because a wolf is a higher rank then you doesn't mean they are allowed to order you around OUT OF CHARACTER. The only members on the site who can reprimand you OUT OF CHARACTER in Haven's Grove is the Site Owner and other Admin.
Again, if there is a Non-Admin member trying to reprimand or order you around OUT OF CHARACTER, please send a PM (private message) the Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member.

5. Can I invite other people to Haven's Grove?
Absolutely!
Haven's Grove always welcomes new members! Anyone you invite will be able to join as long as they follow the rules and requirements of our site. If those you invited do not follow our rules and refuse to meet our requirements, you will not be reprimanded but that new member will be deleted and not welcomed back.
Our rules, requirements and regulations are to be followed by ALL our members, there are no exceptions.

6. If I've been a member longer why did someone else get a higher position then I?

7. Why does another member have more wolves then I?
There are multiple reasons why one member may have more or less wolves then another. Take a look at the list below for all the reasons why some members have more characters (wolves) then others.
- Had approved pups in an approved mated pair
- Are Admin and were granted another wolf to help keep Haven's Grove running smoothly
- Never had a mate or pups and are about the kill of their older wolf
- They've came from Dahlia's old forest (Forest of Paradise I)
Please do not come whining to Alphess Dahlia (Site Owner) or another Admin member about it's unfair that another member has more wolves then you. We give out more wolves only when our members have met the requirements needed to have more then one character (wolf).
